Clean Boatyard Program

The Clean Boatyard Program is a proactive partnership designed to benefit boatyards and boaters to help keep Florida's coast and waterway resources clean. This program consists of Awards & Recognition, Education and Awareness, and Clean Boatyard Designation. There are over 2,000 marinas of which over 300 are boatyards operating in Florida today and hundreds of thousands of boaters using Florida's waters every day. Boating is a $14 billion water intensive industry that includes boaters, marinas, and boatyards. Clean water is vital to this multi-billion dollar industry. The Clean Marina Program is a partnership of industry and government agencies along with marina owners developed to provide clean facilities to the boating public and maintain and protect Florida's waterways from pollution.

Protection of Florida's waters will be helped through voluntary participation, "pier" pressure, environmentally conscious activities and reinforcement of current regulatory processes. This multi-faceted approach provides opportunities for public and private entities to work together, as well as provide incentives and remove institutional roadblocks resulting in more protection, less process.
