The Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County

The Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County is a not-for-profit trade organization representing the interests of the more than 1,000 marine-related industries in Palm Beach County, which employ 18,000 workers and contribute approximately $1.9 annually to Palm Beach County’s economy.
The Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County works diligently to safeguard the future of boating in Palm Beach County in many ways, including:
Working with Palm Beach County, the Florida Inland Navigation District and local waterfront municipalities to identify locations and funding for new and improved boat ramps, docks and parking facilities.
· Presenting the Palm Beach Boat Show each March, the 7th largest boat show in the world, in Downtown West Palm Beach along Flagler Drive and in the Palm Beach County Convention Center. According to a study conducted in association with the University of Florida, the Palm Beach Boat Show annually gives the local economy an estimated $15 million boost and adds approximately $59 million to the economy statewide.
· Working with county, regional and state officials and organizations to help draft the Palm Beach County Manatee Protection Plan.
· Working with state legislators and local authorities to develop tax policies and other incentives to allow waterfront property owners to keep their marinas and boatyards in place and open to the public – preserving access to the water for the boating public.
· Working with the City of West Palm Beach, the City of Riviera Beach and other municipalities to enhance their waterfront facilities to provide additional dockage and other boating amenities, as well as to ensure the continuing availability of working waterfront businesses that provide boating repair services to the public.
· Coordinating, sponsoring and promoting the Annual Holiday Boat Parade of the Palm Beaches, as well as sponsoring the Boca Raton and Boynton/Delray Beach Holiday Boat Parades.
· Supporting the Riviera Beach Maritime Academy, a public charter school providing a maritime-based high school curriculum to prepare students for marine industry jobs in the future.
· Supporting Kids’ Fishing Day, an event that introduces young people to boating and fishing.
· Publishing Coastlines, a magazine addressing the many issues facing South Florida boaters, and distributing it free to all registered owners of vessels 16’ or longer.
