Marine Industry Association of Collier County, Inc.
The Marine Industries Association of Collier County, Inc. (MIACC) is the only organization of its kind in Collier County. Our members are interested in the recreational aspects of the marine trade industry, either directly or indirectly. We hold monthly membership meetings on the third Tuesday, produce an annual membership directory, and publish a newsletter. The MIACC produces our own boat show annually in January. Exhibitors and visitors to the show come from all over south Florida. We also produce a boat parade each December in Naples Bay. We are keystone supporters of twice yearly cleanups of county waterways. The MIACC was instrumental in designing the manatee protection plan approved for the county. We produced a hurricane preparedness plan for Collier boaters and a "Stop Marine Crime" program with the Collier County Sheriff's Department. Collier County has almost 20,000 registered boats, supports over 2,200 marine jobs and an marine trade industry with an economic impact of over 167 Million Dollars.
Collier County is the last county on the west coast of Florida, a jumping off place for boating and fishing in the Everglades National Park, fly-fishing in the backwaters of the county, or salt water fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, or day trips to Key West. Collier County has numerous residential waterfront communities, boat repair facilities for small and large vessels, several sailing and yachting clubs, four county and one city boat ramps.
